Enjoy in our hotel our hospitality in the wounderful Bay of Matala. The hotel belongs to our family and you will find a lot of facillities to relax. A large swimming-pool, a huge garden, a bar which invites to drink or eat something and for our younger guests a playground. This all will help to have a wonderful surrounding.

Homemade cakes or wafers are baked just for you, on request

There are mosquito devices in every room. In spring 2007, we furnished the rooms with new curtains and put new mirrors in the bathrooms

Area information
There are various sandy beaches in Matala and surrounding. The beach in the bay of Matala is the one which is easiest to reach with children. Deck chairs and sun shades are available (surcharge).
A little climbing tour is needed to reach Red Beach, a unique sandy beach with easy access to the refreshing water.
At the other side of Matala is Komos Beach with different zones for all kinds of interest.
Furthermore we recommend the beaches of Triopetra and Kali Limenes. Here you can enjoy different kinds of sports like horse back riging, diving, walking or hiking. With a littel luck you also can watch sheep-shearing.
Matala is situated amongst various sights, like archeological excavations in Gortis, Komos and all many ways around our hotel.
First of all many fossils can easily be found.
And don't forget to visit the monasteries of Preveli and Koudouma.
Heraklion, Knossos or Rethimnon are easy reachable by bus
Travel information
From the airport Heraklion: motorway to "Iraklion - Rethimnon - Chania". After 10 km turn right to "Mires-Phaestos-Timbaki". In a round you now underride the motorway, pass the traffic light and turn right to freeway 97 to "Mires-Timbaki". Continue on this street for about 45 minutes. This street is very very well completed at the beginning at gets more narrow the more you drive. Take the new street which is signed because the old one stops after a few kilometres. Pass mountains and valleys, the villages Sivas, Avgeniki, Agia Várvara, Agia Déka and the little town Míres.
From here you are 10 km away from the exit to Phaistos, Mátala, Pitsídia at you left hand side. Take this exit and follow the street over the hill, passing the cultural sight Phaistos. Drive downhill throught Agios Ioannis and Pitsídia to Matala. Having passed the yellow town sign turn right. Drive downhill again for about 50m. Our hotel is at your right hand side in green surroundings. A small sign where you find with many hotel names leads directly to us
