Spotlight: Balos-Gramvoussa

Gramvoussa, or more exactly Tigani to Balos which is the tip of the westernmost peninsula of Crete, was long a secret spot, only accessible by private boat or a long walk. Magical turquoise waters, lagoons, beaches of pure white sand.

It is accessible by boat (daily boat trips) or car, but we suggest a Jeep as the dirt road leading to the beach is quite rough at points.

Loutro Crete Krete GreeceThe bay where the little village Loutro nests is right after Aghia Roumeli. Loutro is a sweet traditional village at the foothills of the mountains on a small gulf. The village is built on the ruins of the ancient city of Phoinica. The small beach is ideal for swimming as it is well sheltered from strong winds.
